Mir ist das Herz so froh erschrocken,
das ist die liebe Weihnachtszeit!
Ich höre fern her Kirchenglocken
mich lieblich heimatlich verlocken
in märchenstille Herrlichkeit.

Ein frommer Zauber hält mich wieder,
anbetend, staunend muß ich stehn;
es sinkt auf meine Augenlider
ein goldner Kindertraum hernieder,
