Since many things were different this year due to Corona, you also have to cancel the annual open day of the Technical School Erlangen. Instead of the open day, an image film should be created. My friend Wolfgang was commissioned with this, as he is also a teacher and an enthusiastic photographer and videographer (Wolfgang is also our secretary in the photo and video circle Erlangen).
Since the building of the technical school Erlangen is very old and offers a really nice architecture (more information about the building and the history of the technical school under this link), Wolfgang came up with the idea to loosen up the image film with a few drone shots. He then approached me to see if I could make these recordings for him.
The Erlangen Technical School is located in the heart of Erlangen, so I had some concerns about a drone flight over inhabited areas and a road. But Wolfgang was able to talk to the municipality, and they referred us to the police department Erlangen. The police Erlangen (thanks to our police officers at this point) then approved the drone flight, and we were able to get started (so it was my first police-approved drone flight!).
The shots were quickly in the box, but unfortunately at the last sequence somehow messed up the controls and the drone made an unpleasant acquaintance with a road sign. Of course, nothing happened to the road sign, but the drone was damaged. Here I am still researching the causes and am in contact with the company GoPro, as I believe that this is a technical defect. Many thanks at this point also to Wolfgang for the pictures (see below).
Of course, I don’t want to withhold the film made by Wolfgang and relink it here (it really an amazing film!). If you are interested in technical training, you will certainly be well advised at the Erlangen Technical School.
More movies are in the category “Film”.
